Badge of the 6th Infantry Regiment of the Polish Legions with miniature. It was also referred to as the commemorative cross of the same regiment or the Cross of Perseverance.
It was established on July 28, 1916 (the date of July 27, 1916 is also given) by the regimental commander Lt. Col. Mieczyslaw Norwid-Neugebauer. It was registered with the Ministry of Military Affairs on May 5, 1920. It was approved by its minister on December 13, 1921.
The design of the badge was developed by Lt. Jan Załuski (the surname Załuska is also given) together with the regimental commander, and its execution was commissioned to the Cracow goldsmith and jewelry company ,,Czaplicki i Ska".
It was awarded by the Officers' Council and was supposed to be given until January 1, 1917, but under the influence of the legionnaires this period was extended. The total number of its awards is not known.
Large two-piece badge, iron, Eagle of silver on the reverse of which is a punca - the namesake of the maker with initials similar to the letters FO.
This is the first version of the badge made most likely by the firm of Karol Czaplicki - Cracow.
Noteworthy is the original cap from this badge, rarely found in a set.
