Seal of the Admiralty Royal Navy of Great Britain.
Execution London circa 1900-1950.
Seal piston of the famous British Admiralty governing the Navy. By the modern form of the handle, the seal can be dated to circa 1900-1950, i.e. the period of World War I and World War II. The First Lords of the Admiralty (First Lord of the Admiralty) were then: Winston Churchill (1911-1915 and 1939-1940) and Prime Minister Arthur Balfour (1915-1916 ). There is a reproduction of a similar older seal on the "Board of Admiralty" website.
In 2009, a New York Admiralty seal sold for more than $9,000 at Christie's Auction House in auction 2132, item 106.
A great rarity!
