The donation was made by the outstanding Gdańsk medalist Samuel Ammon, who cast it in gold and silver. The designs for this work were developed by the famous Gdańsk painter Herman Han. It is one of the few donations in Polish numismatics that show the city of Gdańsk from the beginning of the 17th century in such a detailed way.
