Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: VF+/XF-
Reference: RIC 351 (R)

On the dupondii of Domitian as Caesar, minted during the reign of Vespasian and Titus, there is a bust without a radial crown - in this case, the high weight and visible yellowish color of the metal, i.e. orichalcum, from which the coin was made, give us certainty as to the denomination.

Coin missing in the collection of the British Museum.

Reverse: Spes standing left, holding flower, S-C across fields

Diameter 29 mm, weight 14.77 g
