Interesting Lokrian hemidrachm, with a helmet placed under Ajax's feet, and a wreathed Persephone's head with horns. The portrait of Persephone presented here is an imitation of the Syracusan original by Euainetos. On the other hand, Ajax was a Greek mythological hero, son of Oileus, king of Lokris, called "lesser" or "Lokrian" to distinguish him from Ajax the Great. He was even mentioned in the Odyssey and Aeneid by Virgil.
