Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: VF/F
Reference: Beyer 287 (podobne), Jędrysek-Migdalska 278 (podobne)

Unspecified bracteate probably from the second half of the 13th century. Bracteats with very similar representations in the field were found in classical Polish bracteat hoards, in the hoard from Radzanowo on the Wkra river and from Wieleń. In the hoard from Radzanowo, similar bracteats were attributed to the Bohemian ruler, Ottokar II of Bohemia (1253-1278), but we are not sure whether the bracteats we offer come from the same circle.

Obverse: a cross on an arch, with a bar placed quite high, a head in profile under each arm, on the right side a head in a miter to the right, on the left side a head in a miter to the left

To holes in the field, shaft and collar creased.

Diameter 30 mm, weight 0.57 g
