Variant of the design marked with series X 789000 and crossed out with two red lines and SPECIMEN printing.
The banknote bears a PMG certificate with a PMG 66 EPQ rating.
This is an excellent grade from PMG, worthy of additional recognition, as the vast majority of '47 designs do not receive grades above 64 due to storage marks in presentation albums.
A beautifully preserved bill with the second highest grade in the PMG record. Natural.
Only two pieces graded higher at the time the auction description was created.
A treat for collectors of communist period designs!
The composition of the obverses of the paper money of the July 15, 1947 issue is different from those issued with the dates of January 15 and May 15, 1946. On these denominations one can see the symmetry of the composition with respect to the vertical axis. As on the earlier issue, the ideological charge of the 20 zloty denomination was placed on the reverse. In the central part of the front side of the banknotes of denominations: 100, 500 and 1,000 zlotys feature classical figures shown in statuesque poses symbolizing: agriculture, maritime economy and heavy industry. As with the series of paper money issued in 1946, the reverses featured representations in stylized frames. The views from the reverses complement the figures from the obverses.
