A rare banknote that, due to the outbreak of World War II, did not officially enter circulation, but was most likely used to pay soldiers' pay in September 1939.
Only half-finished or unfinished pieces are commonly noted, while completed pieces are among the true rarities.
Several times bent and broken in the field, but still nice and pleasant to look at.
Paper relatively clean with natural printing elements visible, no preservation.
A solid note from PMG, which does not do justice to the beauty of the piece on display.
A prestigious and sought-after item that is a strength of any collection of Polish banknotes.
The Bank of Poland introduced a series of "Chiefs of Poland" banknotes in 1936. They were designed by Waclaw Borowski, a painter and graphic artist. A 20 zloty banknote with the image of Emilia Plater was issued. A 50 zloty banknote with the likeness of General H. Dabrowski was designed, but not put into circulation.
