Lot description Show orginal version
Grade: AU
Reference: Miłczak 15

A common banknote with a correctly written "General-Governor" clause, but in such excellent state of preservation - very rare.

Callus on the top and bowed on the right margin, but without full fractures or deflections through the printed field.

The banknote impresses with its freshness, especially the exquisite color saturation of the printing. The ribbed texture of the paper is exquisitely preserved, which is not conveyed by the scan, which tends to flatten the image, hence we have included additional photos. Print with an emissive shine.

Bank-like presence. Undisputedly one of the best preserved pieces we have featured in our auctions.

World War I led to a currency crisis in Poland, so the institution of the Polish National Loan Fund was established in the General Government. With the decree of Jeneral-Governor Hans Beseler on December 9, 1916, the PKKP was authorized to issue ½, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 Polish marks.
