One of the rarest banknotes of the communist period.
Uncirculated, proof print of a thousand zloty note dated 1962 with a vertical, pasted red inscription TYSIĄC ZŁOTYCH on the obverse. Fully completed print, zero numbering. A variant many times rarer than the visually convergent banknote, but with the inscription TYSIĄC ZŁOTYCH already printed in green.
The 1,000 zloty banknote with the 1962 issue date was never finalized for circulation due to improper signatures. There was a change in the president of the NBP from Adam Zebrowski to Stanislaw Majewski, which naturally forced a correction, for which the issue date of the banknote was also changed to 1965.
An excellent piece, which at the time of this description is the only registered banknote in the PMG population, hence it naturally shows as the highest rated piece as of today.
Piece in excellent condition, without the slightest flaws, as evidenced by the excellent note from PMG.
An item of the utmost rarity, which is missing from virtually every collection of Polish banknotes.
